Emeline, a trained social worker, served as the writer for the Tongan Family Violence Conceptual Framework and Training Manual for Family Violence Practitioners. She was also a member of the Pacific Advisory Group (PAG) for the Ministry of Social Development for seven years before resigning.
Emeline’s initiative, drive, and substantial contributions to the Pasifika community and Pasifika have earned her one of New Zealand’s most prestigious awards for women—the Women of Influence Award, recognizing her outstanding community service and commitment to social enterprise. In addition, she received the Sir Peter Blake Emerging Leader Award in 2006.
