We have aligned our approach in the programme with the Pasifika Conceptual Frameworks provided in “Fofola e Fala kae Talanoa e Kainga”, the Ministry of Social Development’s Tongan family violence framework.

The programme provides theories that are culturally relevant and reinforced through biblical teaching for participating churches from the Tongan Community and includes the Catholic, Seventh-Day Adventist, Methodist and Pentecostal Christian churches.

We believe that the influence of the church in the Tongan community provides an opportunity to explore how faith based approaches and a Tongan framework for family violence can be brought together to deliver a programme that will have long-term benefits for Tongan families and their communities.
