IDENTITY

During adolescence, it’s common for young individuals to embark on a journey of self-discovery. They delve into aspects of their identity, from values and ethics to spirituality, and grapple with questions surrounding race, ethnicity, sexuality, and gender. This exploration stems from a natural inclination to comprehend their place in the world and define their unique self.

CONFIDENCE

For young individuals, a clear understanding and confidence in their origins, identity, and place in the world equips them with the resilience to make wise decisions about their associations and future endeavors. As they delve into self-discovery, they might experiment with various roles in familial, academic, and social contexts, sometimes pushing boundaries or exhibiting unexpected behaviors.

EMPOWERMENT

When young individuals embrace and understand their unique identities, they experience a profound empowerment. This newfound confidence not only heightens their self-awareness but also drives them to be socially conscientious. As a result, they actively contribute to shaping a more inclusive future for themselves, their loved ones, and their communities.

For us girls to be part of it and feel that we can do that too – and just as well, was really empowering. BE ourselves, KNOW who we are and ROCK IT.”
